A Single Lead

Dear Friends,

What is the Value of a Single Lead? Can we put a value on a single person coming through our front door or into our neighborhood? Is it worth money, goodwill, a new client, another referral or maybe a new friend?
A Single Lead
What is a lead? Any time your name is placed in front of someone looking for your product - that is a lead. All marketing efforts are directed at either keeping our current leads interested in us or at finding a new lead who just might become interested in us. One more person interested in your product is not only a potential new sale but also a potential new customer and a potential new referral source.

Do Leads Have Value?
Yes, everyone who hears about your business or program is either a current customer or a potential customer. Customers keep our doors open. I once heard it said that "marketing was getting interested people in the door, sales was getting them to buy." Or as my grandfather was fond of saying, "it's hard to catch fish if your worm isn't in the water." (I love fishing analogies!) If I invest in a worm then the potential for catching a fish just went up. How much is that lead worth? And how much do you pay for each lead? In general terms, a lead is worth a bunch and it cost me a lot?

So, How Do I Stretch My Marketing Dollars?
One way to extend your marketing effort is to let us help. Included in your Chamber membership are several opportunities to piggy-back your marketing efforts on the shoulders of the Chamber's marketing efforts. Your membership includes a listing on our Chamber website, mentions in our social media outreach tools and free rides on our weekly newsletters and e-blasts. And that's just the stuff that is included in a basic membership. (Ask me about Premium Plus-Up, Sponsorship and Advertising)

Why Does this Make Sense?
OK, stick with me - this is the geeky stuff. In just the past seven days, the FCRCC website had 739 page views (77% of them from new eyes), our main Facebook site had 827 people reached and our newsletters and e-blasts reached 3150 with an open rate of 26%. That means that all total, 2,385 sets of eyes crossed our marketing in the last seven days. One percent conversion would equal 23 new potential leads without lifting a finger. If even 1/10 of a percent (2 leads) came through your door and you sold one of them - you probably paid for your membership in the past seven days.

Yes, But...
Those are the Chamber's leads. What's ours, is yours. What do we have to promote but you? When people hit the Chamber website, they're not looking for the Chamber, they are looking for your business - they just happen to know that we have a listing on our site. When we promote something on Facebook - yes, sometimes it's about us, but most often it is about you and what you are doing. And our newsletter is all about letting people know where and when they can connect with you. In Spanish, "Mi Casa, Su Casa!"

In English, "We Are Here to Serve You" - Let Us Help

By the way - Sign Up Today for the Fairfax Mixer coming May 8th at the Country Pantry - let's make this a big deal.  SIGN UP HERE
Once again, thank you for your continued support of the Chamber in your community. We strive to be an integral part of your business strategy.

Sincerely,
Dave Southwick
